W – Witty
I – Inspirations
S – Supernaturally
D – Downloaded
O – On
M – Man
Wisdom is the divine ability to know, understand and walk in ways directed by the counsel and dictate of God. It grants us access to The Father’s heart at all times, thereby making our sojourn on earth, highly effective, fruitful and beneficial to all.
This explains why Christ is called The Wisdom of God and He has become Wisdom unto us. 1 Corinthians 1:24
Through Him, we recognize The Father, understand His love and also know the essence of walking in His ways.
Therefore as Christians, we ought to grow in wisdom like Jesus. Luke 2:52
Proverbs 4:5-17
“Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth. Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you; Love her, and she will keep you. Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you honour, when you embrace her. She will place on your head an ornament of grace; A crown of glory she will deliver to you.” Hear, my son, and receive my sayings, And the years of your life will be many. I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in right paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hindered, And when you run, you will not stumble. Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go; Keep her, for she is your life. Do not enter the path of the wicked, And do not walk in the way of evil. Avoid it, do not travel on it; Turn away from it and pass on. For they do not sleep unless they have done evil; And their sleep is taken away unless they make someone fall. For they eat the bread of wickedness, And drink the wine of violence.”
The scripture above emphasizes the need to get Wisdom and also outlines the preservation, protection, promotion, honour and longevity of life embracing wisdom brings.
Wisdom is called the principal thing meaning she (as biblically referred to) is the most important, consequential and influential thing. If it was not, the Bible would not have said so.
Without wisdom, a person will be at the peril of wickedness, foolishness and all sorts of evil. Therefore, it is mandatory for anyone interested in living a fulfilled life on earth and in heaven to have Wisdom and also get understanding.
It is therefore imperative that we serve God with reverential fear because the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10
Furthermore, there are 2 types of wisdom.
1. The Wisdom of (and from) God also called Divine or Heavenly wisdom which has been well explained above. 2Corinthians 2, James 3:17
2. Worldly or Earthly, Sensual or Demonic Wisdom also known as Fleshly Wisdom. 1 Corinthians3:19, 2 Corinthians 1:12, James 3:13-16
This is the compromised, contaminated and perverted wisdom operated by satan and his agents. It usually appeals to the human mind or senses cutting across as smartness, cleverness but is actually wicked, evil, demonic and sensual because it has no regard for the things of God. In fact, it neither benefits the person exhibiting it nor his or her victim on the long run.
Beloved, God only wants us to walk in Divine wisdom and not worldly wisdom because of all the blessings she bestows on us.
